Car ParadePosted 4/6/2020
Here is the car parade route. There are a few versions included. (1) An Overview, (2) The parade divided into North and South, (3) A Turn by turn script, (4) A selection of more detailed maps.
This is a very ambitious route. We have no idea how long it will take us to complete. But with social distancing and staying at home what else are we doing? Just know that we are on the way to see you.
- The numbers are mile markers and give you an idea of the route.
- Please recognize that the parade route does not include every street. You may have to make your way to the closest intersection.
- The parade begins from DVS at 3:15pm. Please be patient as we make our way to your neighborhood.
- If you are outside, please practice safe distancing of at least 6 feet
The staff at DVS is excited about this road trip through the neighborhood to wave from our car windows to let students know they are not being forgotten and that we miss them.
See you all on Monday afternoon.
Jump Rope For HeartPosted 4/6/2020
Thank you to all of the students who participated in the Kids Heart Challenge during P.E. last month. We had 54 students from Derry Village School work together to raise $4,332 for the American Heart Association. The top three students who raised the most money are Mason W, Trevor W, and Gavin W, and the grade level that raised the most money was First Grade. We could not have accomplished that goal without the hard work from all of our Heart Heroes! [Ms. Studer]

Sent to the Principal’s OfficePosted 4/6/2020
Today we have an exciting new way to acknowledge students for their hard work over the week. We would like to introduce today “Sent to the Principal’s Office”. Being sent to the principal’s office is always a scary thing for a child because it implies that they did something wrong.
Well, in the world of social distancing being sent to the principal’s office is a wonderful thing. We would like to acknowledge students who are doing amazing things in a remote learning environment. Teachers and other staff will send us names of students each week and at the end of the week we will announce the names.
