Bus Driver Strike

Dear parents,

As you may (may not) already know there is a potential for a bus strike that will affect First Student bus drivers. We do not know if this strike will happen. We have made some plans at Derry Village in case this strike does happen.

Our morning arrival and afternoon dismissal will be affected. Here is a brief overview of the plan should there be a strike.
  1. The building will be open at 7:00am and supervision will be provided.
  2. Supervision will be provided for students in the afternoon until 5pm.

Traffic Pattern Maps

To alleviate drop off traffic parents can drop their children off in two places;
  1. Behind the school (in the same area we do afternoon car pickup)
  2. In the school bus drop off area.
Arrival can begin as early as 7:00am.
Students arriving before 8:25am will go to the cafeteria
Students arriving after 8:25am will go directly to their classroom.

Daycare, Boys/Girls Club, Circle of Friends, Dexter St. Walkers, Title 1 will be dismissed as usual. Please note that on this permission form. Send back to the teacher.

Fairways students. Students at the Fairways will be walked from the school to the traffic lights near West Running Brook by staff. We ask that parents meet their child at the traffic lights at 3pm. Please send a note to school if your child has permission to walk from the traffic lights to your building.

All other students being picked up with cars will be divided into two groups;
  1. Grades K-2 students can be picked up at the rear of the building
  2. Grades 3-5 students can be picked up at the front of the building
There will be NO office dismissal. Parents are asked to stay in their cars in line. Your child will be brought to you.

Parents picking up students in the car, please remember the following;
